Tijd voor Tapijten (Time for Carpets)

Marianne: “In 2017, the special project 'Time for Carpets' took place in 11 asylum centers spread over the Netherlands. It was a parent/child project of the www.vrolijkheid.nl Foundation and the www.werkelijkheid.com Foundation and I was asked to join the asylum center Grave.

Together with people from different cultures we made a beautiful carpet, for the base we used crochet circles made by Dutch women.

Dassenbrug (Tie Bridge)

Together with Syrian volunteers and visitors of the festival we made an installation on a bridge in the Juliana Park in Veghel. Weeks in advance, 30 collection bins were set out in the municipality and the result was impressive, thousands of ties and scarves came in. This project was again about meeting and connecting on the basis of equality and the fact that it took place on a bridge was a beautiful symbolism!

Free Hug

For the exhibition Art and Trees 2014 in Oisterwijk, Marianne made the work 'Free Hug' In her country the word for a hug and teddybear is the same, that's why she used these objects to make this installation.
